Chandelier Remodel

By |April 28th, 2017|

Updating your front entry can be an after thought. This remodel was very straight forward, we needed to bring the ceiling down a bit by enlarging the area with lighting. We staggered three of the same size fixtures at different heights and installation locations. We also selected a fixture where the glass […]

Custom Designed Chandelier Mock-up

By |April 21st, 2015|

Sometimes it’s helpful to physically “mock-up” your design for full understanding of what your trying to say.  The goal here is mutually rewarding; the client gets to say “ahhhh yes” and the designer gets to say “easy as lemon pie”.  With a quick trip to the arts and crafts store and some cheap cardboard, we whipped […]

Commercial Office Installation

By |March 28th, 2015|

We are in the midst of installing a new office in San Marcos for one of our favorite clients, Apollo Communications. My aunt Debbie is in town visiting and she’s helping us get it all wrapped up. Considering hiring her for future installs!

Residential install

By |November 12th, 2014|

Ever wonder how Designers pull off accessorizing a home after the remodel is completed and its time to layer the “fluff”?  It’s not always To The Trade only companies we order from, but good ol’ local retail stores where the masses shop as well.  This is what my day looks like today!

A mantle or not?

By |November 6th, 2014|

The stone has been installed so we can determine if we like the fireplace without a mantle, a 5″h wood block stained a bit darker than the beams.  Cabinets are stained as well.  Can’t decide…will keep you posted!

Faux Succulent Arrangements by PMI

By |April 21st, 2014|

Ever wondered how the pros get faux succulents to “round” up and look so real in a low planter like the one we specified here? Magic! Not really, but it’s called Rapid Expanding Foam (see attached picture). You can purchase it at any hardware store like Ace Hardware for roughly $5.99 for one 12 ounce […]

Custom made window bench seat & table-put together piece by piece

By |March 26th, 2014|

NOOK BEFORE-what to do? SEAT & TABLE installed yesterday.  The bench was custom made by El Portal who also fabricated the chrome feet.  The bench wraps the corner and is flush with the kitchen cabinet on the left.  The upholstered seats on the bench are fixed, allowing the wood veneer exposure  at the ends and in […]

Blurring the Lines Between Home and Office : Homepolish

Great things are happening in the world of design and we always want to give credit where credit is due. Innovation, creative thinking and unconventional approaches are all traits we admire here at PMI and one company in particular caught our eye in the February 12th, 2014 Business Insider article featuring Homepolish.

Reupholster your dining chairs-don’t buy new

By |January 18th, 2014|

A client came to us bored of his micro fiber taupe colored chairs he purchased years ago, but loved how comfortable they are.  The style has a classic, clean line contemporary feel so we decided to show him some ideas on using a mix of fabrics and simply reupholster, verses searching high & low for […]

A Guys Guide to the Perfect Home Office

By |January 17th, 2014|

Inspiration comes from many places and sometimes it sprouts from an unexpected source.  I don’t typically search men’s magazines or websites but today I felt the need for some testosterone infested design and what I found was surprisingly satisfying.  I wanted to quickly share a great article I found on Primer.com titled “The Intentional Apartment.” […]
